Week ahead for Angels

Tuesday through Thursday: vs. Texas Rangers
Friday through Sunday: vs. Kansas City Royals
Not that the Texas Rangers are sensitive, but they haven’t won the American League West since 1999, and they have all but patented the second-half fade. The Angels have won the AL West five out of the last six years, and they welcome the first-place Rangers to town this week. Manager Ron Washington played the no-respect card after the Rangers compiled an 11-game winning streak against NL weaklings Houston, Pittsburgh, Florida and Milwaukee. “Every team … has a weak part of the schedule,” Washington told reporters in Texas. “If Anaheim was out there kicking [tail] he way we’re kicking [tail], they’d be a great [bleeping] team. But since the Texas Rangers are doing it, it’s called weak opponents.”
