Week ahead for Angels

Monday through Wednesday: vs. Milwaukee Brewers
Friday through Sunday: at Chicago Cubs
The Angels never have played at Wrigley Field — the one in Chicago, that is. But they played the inaugural 1961 season at Wrigley Field in L.A., with Steve Bilko, Albie Pearson and Leon “Daddy Wags” Wagner starring in the onetime home of the Pacific Coast League’s L.A. Angels. William Wrigley, the chewing gum magnate who owned the Chicago Cubs as well as the minor league Angels, lent his name to each of their ballparks. The PCL Angels moved to Spokane, Wash., in 1958. The Wrigley Field site, one mile southeast of the Coliseum at 42nd and Avalon, now is home to a community recreation center and mental health facility.
