Chinese students: An article in Saturday’s Section A about wealthy Chinese families’ efforts to prepare students for admission to prestigious U.S. universities misspelled Harvard-bound student Chang Shaui’s name as Chang Shui.

Violinist: A review of the Pacific Symphony and violinist Leila Josefowicz in Saturday’s Calendar section said that Josefowicz is an L.A. native. Although she lived in Los Angeles as a child, she was born in Ontario, Canada.

Medical marijuana: An article in Saturday’s LATExtra section about a court hearing on challenges to Los Angeles’ medical marijuana ordinance misspelled the last name of Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James C. Chalfant as Chalfont.

High school baseball: In the Southern Section baseball roundup in Sunday’s Sports section, the nickname for the Glendora High School team was incorrect. It is the Tartans, not the Tartars.

San Francisco crime lab: A June 3 article in the LATExtra section about problems in San Francisco’s crime lab said that the city’s police chief, George Gascon, was hired from the Los Angeles Police Department. Gascon was hired from the Mesa, Ariz., Police Department, where he served as chief for three years after having spent more than 28 years with the LAPD.

Farmworkers and overtime: A June 3 article in Section A about a bill to extend standard overtime benefits to farmworkers said that the state instituted overtime pay for farmworkers after 10 hours in a day in 2001. The first 10-hour-overtime order was made in 1976.
