Thyroid self-tests: An article about at-home medical tests in Health on Aug. 31 said that Mary Shomon checks her own thyroid levels using a thyroid test kit she orders over the Internet. The article, which identified Shomon as an author of several books on thyroid disease, should have noted that she receives a commission from some thyroid tests sold online.
