LAUSD rapped on the knuckles

Re “Contractor wears 2 hats on jobs for L.A. Unified,” May 21

Wouldn’t it be great if L.A. Unified paid its teachers the hourly rate that goes to the consultants mentioned in this article? I hope that those involved in this boondoggle get tagged and are forced to pay back the money they don’t deserve.

As the second-largest school district in the nation, L.A. Unified has unchecked power to destroy neighborhoods. I know of several neighborhoods of single-family residences, including mine, that have been or are being threatened by the district’s ability to take homes and build schools, which may or may not be needed. Because of the district’s size and power, it is practically impossible for the homeowners to hold it accountable.

L.A. Unified must be stopped before all middle-class neighborhoods are destroyed.
