Woman held on welfare fraud charge

A woman accused of using fake Social Security numbers to steal more than $160,000 in Orange County’s largest-ever public assistance fraud case was arrested Friday, authorities said.
Laura Bianca Razo, 41, is suspected of using three separate Social Security numbers to apply for government aid and financial programs between 1987 and 2006, including public housing assistance, student loans and welfare benefits, authorities said. It was not clear how the alleged crimes were uncovered.
If convicted, Razo -- who was being held on $500,000 bail -- could face more than 14 years in prison. She is expected to be arraigned Monday.
