Detroit Teachers Reject Contract, to Strike Today

Teachers rejected a two-year contract proposal by the Detroit public school district and decided to strike. Teachers plan to demonstrate at schools today, the day they were scheduled to report to work to prepare for the beginning of the school year, union officials said.
