Four people, including an 8-year-old boy, were wounded Thursday evening in two drive-by shootings in South Los Angeles, police said.
Authorities said the attacks, which occurred shortly after 7 p.m. more than 40 blocks apart, were unrelated.
In one of the shootings, in the 4400 block of South Stanford Avenue, a woman in her 20s, an 18-year-old man and the 8-year-old boy were struck by bullets fired from a white Chevrolet or Oldsmobile with black stripes.
In the other incident, a female U.S. Postal Service letter carrier was shot in the parking lot of a post office in the 8500 block of South Broadway. The vehicle involved was a light-blue sedan.
The victims were taken to local hospitals and were listed in stable condition, authorities said.
Police were searching for suspects late Thursday.
