Israeli forces seized a senior Palestinian legislator in the latest move in a 7-week-old crackdown on the ruling Hamas movement, drawing angry accusations from Palestinian leaders that Israel is undermining their efforts to form a unity government.
Troops and Shin Bet intelligence agency operatives grabbed Mahmoud Ramahi, a senior Hamas member and secretary-general of the Palestinian parliament, at his home in the West Bank city of Ramallah, a military statement said.
