A Genuine Expo Treasure

I enjoyed reading about the Golden Gate International Exposition (“Great-Aunt Gertie and the 1939 Expo,” by Ellen Kaye, July 30). I didn’t attend the fair, but my mother and father did. I have Mom’s special-edition Featherweight Singer Sewing Machine with the unique seal on the front verifying it was purchased at the fair. She (and later my sister and I) made many outfits on it, and my daughter learned to sew on it.
