Lois January, 93, redheaded film actress of the 1930s and ‘40s, died Aug. 7 of Alzheimer’s disease. In “The Wizard of Oz,” playing an Emerald City manicurist, she sang to Dorothy that “we can make a dimpled smile out of a frown.”
