An assistant prop master was killed on the Arizona set of “The Kingdom” when the cart he was driving collided with a sport utility vehicle carrying the film’s director, Pete Berg.
Nick Papac, 25, died Saturday night at the Scottsdale-Osborn Medical Center from head injuries suffered in the crash earlier that evening. The accident occurred after filming on the Middle Eastern thriller had wrapped for the day.
Two other people riding with Papac, who lived in Los Angeles, were not injured. None of the film’s cast, which includes Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner, was involved in the accident, and Berg was not hurt. The film was scheduled to resume production today after taking a one-day hiatus following the death.
Papac’s credits include “Miami Vice,” “Domino” and the upcoming “Flags of Our Fathers.”
