Re “U.S. Clout a Missing Ingredient in Mideast,” news analysis, Aug. 8
This front-page article said that President Bush was “inexperienced.” He’s had six years of one failed policy after another. He’s not inexperienced; he’s incompetent, and so is Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. This administration has created world chaos with its stupidity, and one can only hope that it will be replaced soon. Clearly, competence is something it’s not going to develop in what’s left of its time in office.

The analysis of the tragic Mideast war (and decades-old Palestinian occupation) seems the most accurate and articulate view to date of the situation, and how it got that way. Media mentions of Hezbollah’s rocket attacks usually allude to Iran-via-Syria as the rocket supplier. Makes you wonder where Israel’s rockets, bulldozers, tanks, gunships and F-16s come from.
