Why feature a state that is boycotted?

WITH 50 states to encourage your readers to visit, I was disappointed to see a lead article (“Slow Dance With Charleston,” July 30) promoting tourism to South Carolina. I had to read far too long before I arrived at the paragraph (buried in the middle of the article) that acknowledged the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored Peoples’ recommended boycott of travel to South Carolina. The mention of this still did not justify advocating travel to this state.
