Reward Offered in Dog-Hanging Case

Madera County officials have announced a reward of $1,100 for information about a dog found hanging from a tree and have for the first time opened a tip line for a crime against an animal.
The border collie mix was found with a noose around its neck Tuesday. The dog had no tags, and no one reported it missing. “It goes beyond cruel and vicious. This calculated killing can only be described as horrific and sinister in nature,” Sheriff John Anderson said.
