30 Injured as Bomb Goes Off on Ferry

A bomb stashed in a trash can exploded on a ferry in the southern Philippines, wounding at least 30 people, including nine children, military officials said.
Passengers were boarding the Dona Ramona at the time of the blast. The ferry was docked at Lamitan, on the island of Basilan. At least six people were badly burned.
The south is home to the country’s Muslim minority and a decades-old insurgency.
