Agilent to Move Main Office to Santa Clara

Agilent Technologies Inc., which is exiting its semiconductor-related businesses, will close two Palo Alto sites and move its headquarters to Santa Clara, Calif., next year.
Agilent will consolidate its Silicon Valley administrative, research and manufacturing operations at a single campus in Santa Clara by October 2006, a spokeswoman said.
Chief Executive William Sullivan said Aug. 15 that he would sell Agilent’s chip unit to a group of investors and spin off the circuit-testing business through a stock sale next year. He is reshaping the company to one that primarily sells electronic-device and mobile-phone testers and chemical analysis equipment.
