China Probing Firm Linked to News Corp.

Chinese authorities are investigating a company for allegedly helping Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. illegally lease satellite television channels to local operators.
The investigation, which started in June, of Beijing Rejian Hulian Advertisement Co. is related to the illegal leasing of satellite TV channels from News Corp.’s Star TV unit, an official at the investigation department of the Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce said.
Star TV, the Beijing-based unit of the fourth-largest U.S. media company, is not being investigated at this point, the official said.
