Re “Beating Victim a Familiar Figure to Many,” Aug. 18
Thank you for the warm and personal story about Ernest Adams, the homeless man from 3rd Street who was so senselessly beaten.
I called L.A. County-USC Medical Center and was told that he remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit. I care because he has been my morning friend for about three years.
I drive by his corner daily, always waving and often chatting. I find him friendly, knowledgeable and caring. He asked for pictures of my vacation and my puppy and carried them in his pocket. I am, of course, interested in how he is doing and hope you will continue to report his story. I’m sure many others would be interested too.
