Federal loans for rain damage
Southern Californians -- homeowners, renters and representatives of businesses or nonprofits -- who experienced property damage or economic losses from storms that hit Feb. 12 through Feb. 24 are encouraged to apply quickly for low-interest federal loans available through the U.S. Small Business Administration.
A disaster declaration covers Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, San Diego and Kern counties, and includes damage from the June 1 landslide in the Bluebird Canyon area of Laguna Beach.
SBA loan offices recently opened in West Hollywood, Pasadena, Long Beach and elsewhere to answer questions and provide applications. For more information call (800) 659-2955 or visit www.sba.gov/disaster.
