Registrar should receive diversity training

Re “O.C. Jews Fault Date of Special Primary,” Aug. 18
The vote to replace Rep. Chris Cox, now chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, just got more entangled because of the myopia of Orange County Registrar of Voters Steve Rodermund and the abject disinterest in a key voting block by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who approved the controversial voting date.
Perhaps Rodermund needs to be sent to diversity training, as he admits that he knew the date would be on Rosh Hashana but went ahead with the date anyway despite the special primary’s arbitrary voting date’s coincidence with a significant Jewish religious holiday affecting thousands of citizens in the congressional district.
