Hershey to Acquire Joseph Schmidt

Hershey Co. agreed to buy San Francisco-based Joseph Schmidt Confections Inc., which sells specialty chocolate desserts at company stores in San Francisco and San Jose, and in department and specialty stores.
Hershey said the purchase price for Joseph Schmidt and Scharffen Berger Chocolate Maker Inc. of Berkeley, which Hershey agreed to buy last month, would be $46.6 million to $61.1 million, based on sales growth through 2007.
