Gish Prize goes to Peter Sellars

The $250,000 Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prize, awarded to “trailblazers who have redefined their art and pushed the boundaries of excellence in their field,” will be given this year to opera director Peter Sellars. He’ll be honored in New York Sept. 29.
Previous winners include architect Frank Gehry and saxophonist Ornette Coleman.
