W. Nile Virus Found in 3 More Dead Birds

Three more dead birds found in San Diego County have tested positive for the West Nile virus, bringing this year’s total to five, officials said Thursday.
Two of the dead birds were blue jays found in San Diego on Monday and Tuesday. The third bird was a great horned owl found in Vista on July 25.
County vector control employees were treating mosquito breeding sites in those areas and educating the public to the dangers of mosquitoes and West Nile virus.
