Zabriskie is back on map

Death Valley’s most popular vista, Zabriskie Point, is now open after repairs to roads damaged by a flood last year.
Overlooking mud hills bordering the Funeral Mountains, the site drew nearly 1 million tourists annually and inspired the title of a movie. But access has been blocked since a flash flood last August damaged Route 190 and killed two motorists, says National Park Service spokesman Terry Baldino.
Repairs to the Dante’s View, Hole-in-the-Wall and Artist’s Drive routes should wrap up by mid-September.
