Blue, Jones Power UCLA Over Oregon

Nikki Blue scored 26 points and Whitney Jones had 24 points and 10 rebounds as the UCLA women routed Oregon, 93-68, Friday night in a Pacific 10 Conference opener at Eugene, Ore.
The Bruins, 6-4 overall, used an 18-1 run to take a commanding 27-7 lead midway through the first half, and the Ducks (4-6, 0-1) never receovered.
UCLA took a 49-28 halftime lead, shooting 63% and forcing 11 turnovers.
Oregon State 63, USC 61 -- Hollye Chapman scored 18 points and Leilani Estavan made the go-ahead basket as the Beavers (7-3) held on to defeat the Trojans (5-6) in a Pac-10 opener at Corvallis, Ore.
The Trojans, who were led by Aisha Hollans’ 20 points and 13 apiece by Rometra Craig and Ebony Hoffman, had three shots to tie the game but couldn’t convert.

Nebraska 60, UC Santa Barbara 57 -- Jake Muhleisen had 13 of his 15 points in the second half as Nebraska (5-4) rallied for a victory over UCSB (3-6) in the ASU/azcentral.com Hoops Classic at Tempe, Ariz. Branduinn Fullove scored 18 points for Santa Barbara, which will play Bucknell tonight.
