Who needs films?

Regarding Patrick Goldstein’s column (“Rudeness Wins All the Marbles,” Dec. 24): I’ve often thought what a wonderful city Los Angeles would be if all those horrible little moguls, directors, actors and wannabes packed their bags and left. Am I the only person in this town rooting for runaway productions?

I have long thought that much of the culture of rudeness in Hollywood can be explained by this dictum: The entertainment business sustains and defines itself by the conflict of ego, money, opinion and talent, all relentlessly vying for control in an atmosphere of adversity.
