Morning Canyon Beach Closed by Sewage Spill

A sewage spill caused in part by this week’s heavy rains forced the closure Friday of a 300-foot section of Morning Canyon Beach in Corona del Mar. Officials said it will remain closed until further notice.
The rain and urban runoff also have contributed to high bacterial counts at beaches and waterways in Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Dana Point Harbor and San Clemente.
