Police Arrest Nine ETA Suspects

Police arrested seven suspected ETA members, hours after arresting two alleged leaders, in an operation Spain said had dealt a severe blow to the violent Basque separatist group.
Spanish anti-terrorist police sources said nine suspects had been arrested in southwestern France.
Listed as a terrorist organization by the European Union and the United States, ETA has killed 838 people since 1968 to press its demands for an independent state in Basque areas of northern Spain and southwestern France.
