Rowdy Vines get cut from ‘Jay Leno’

The Vines are building on their reputation for volatility.
The Australian band, known for the hit “Get Free” and raucous stage antics, was bounced Monday from a high-profile performance spot on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” after lead singer Craig Nichols began trashing the group’s equipment during a sound check in the hours before the show’s taping.
According to a source in the band’s camp, the tantrum by Nichols sent NBC staffers ducking for cover, left the set littered with debris and led to the band’s being quickly ousted from the network studios in Burbank.
Leno mentioned in his monologue that the appearance had been canceled because of the band’s rowdy behavior.
