Police exchanged gunfire and arrested two suspected car thieves who led authorities on a 2 1/2-hour pursuit Sunday that ended in a crash.
No one was seriously hurt in the chase, though one suspect was grazed by a police bullet, authorities said.
Police identified the suspects as Mission Hills residents Rys Stevens, 28, and John Castleberry, 22.
The pursuit began at 8:10 a.m. at Balboa Avenue and Saticoy Street after the suspects refused to stop at the request of patrol officers.
The suspects then led police on surface streets and freewaysbefore they began shooting from the back of their pickup truck, police said.
At 10:45 a.m., the pickup careened off an embankment on the White Oak Avenue exit of the Ventura Freeway. The suspects were apprehended after a short pursuit on foot.
