Police on Sunday continued their search for three men suspected in the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old Panorama City man as he got into a parked car near his home.
Los Angeles police officials identified the victim as Juan Perez, saying robbery was the most likely motive in the killing. But Sgt. Harold Cox said other motives have not been ruled out.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Perez and family members were approached in the 9200 block of Wakefield Avenue by two gunmen, who ordered everyone into the vehicle.
A third gunman stood lookout, police said.
Perez was shot in the upper body and died later that day in a local hospital.
Cox said the gunmen have not been identified.
The Los Angeles Police Department is asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the Devonshire Division at (818) 756-8291.
