Rainfall Causes Freeway Problems

More rain fell on Orange County on Sunday night, bringing with it minor flooding, some power outages and a slew of small accidents, police said.
The California Highway Patrol said northbound Interstate 5 was flooded just south of the San Joaquin Hills toll road, and motorists were advised to drive slowly in the area.
A big rig jackknifed on the Riverside Freeway at Weir Canyon Road, backing up traffic well into Corona. No injuries were reported. The onramp to the freeway was closed from 4:27 to 6:49 p.m., the CHP said.
Sporadic power outages hit Anaheim, police spokesman Joe Vargas said.
Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. John Brimmage said there were a good share of “fender benders. They are all over. But it’s really no more than we would normally have.”
