As part of the city’s Community Grant and Award program for 2000-01, members of the City Council approved $55,000 for nonprofit organizations working in the city.
The Community Services Commission reviewed the applications of nine organizations and decided on the following allocations: Friends of the Library ($3,000), La Habra Depot Theater ($4,500), the Art Assn. ($1,500), Sonora High School ($2,000), La Habra High School ($3,000), La Habra Boys & Girls Club ($29,000), National Junior Basketball ($3,000), and the HBIC Day School Program ($9,000).
