The California State Conference of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People will step up its Internet presence and provide more electronic services to its members through a $96,000 grant from Pacific Bell’s charitable foundation.
Leaders of the California division of the NAACP said they will use the grant money to connect 10 of the organization’s California branches to the Internet and other NAACP chapters over high-speed lines equipped with digital subscriber line, or DSL, technology.
