Kyle Matter continued his assault on the Hart High record book Friday night, passing for 321 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-8 Foothill League victory over host Burroughs.
The Stanford-bound senior set the Hart record for career touchdown passes with 68, eclipsing the previous mark of 65 set by Ryan Connors in 1990-91.
Matter completed 19 of 30 passes, including three touchdowns to receiver Kevin Donoho, who finished with five receptions for 128 yards.
Donoho’s 64-yard scoring catch gave Hart (6-2, 3-0) a 21-0 lead midway through the second quarter. He also had touchdown receptions of 27 and seven yards.
Hart receiver Chris Steck had four receptions for 73 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown with 21 seconds left in the first half.
Hart had scoring drives of 53, 99, 64, 79 and 74 yards, finishing with 395 yards.
Burroughs (2-6, 1-2) scored late in the third quarter on a four-yard run by tailback Mike Perez, who rushed for all but two of his game-high 75 yards in the second half.
