Ronald J. Fagan, 72, film and television editor particularly known for his work on television docudramas. Fagan, a native of Dublin, Ireland, began his career as a page at NBC. He soon became a staff editor on such television series as “Peyton Place” and “Batman.” An editor for more than three decades, Fagan handled several motion pictures, including the 1991 “Return to the Blue Lagoon.” But he became best known for his work on television miniseries and biographical movies. He earned Emmy nominations for “Young Joe, the Forgotten Kennedy” in 1977, “Mussolini: The Untold Story” in 1985, and “George Washington II: The Forging of a Nation” in 1986. In his youth, Fagan was a champion swimmer and rugby player and at the age of 15 won the Irish Leinster Provincial Golf Championship at Skerries. On Saturday in Santa Monica of lung disease.
