To honor Michael Osornio, a police officer killed by a drunk driver six years ago, the La Habra Police Department Explorers Post will hold its annual Safe Rides Program from 9 p.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday.
The North Orange County Yellow Cab company will provide transportation for those who have been drinking and think they should not drive themselves between those times. All those interested should call the police station at (562) 905-9750. The Explorers will then request a cab. The rides will be limited to the city of La Habra.
