* Catcher Mike Nickeas and pitcher Tyler Adamczyk, both of Westlake High, announced their college choices Tuesday, with Nickeas selecting Georgia Tech and Adamczyk choosing California. UCLA was the runner-up for both players.
* General Manager Kevin Younkin of the Lancaster JetHawks was selected California League co-executive of the year along with General Manager John Katz of Modesto.
TENNIS
* Unseeded Sonya Reynolds of Palmdale upset No. 2-seeded Moe Moe Myinttun of Los Angeles, 6-4, 6-2, to win the girls’ 18 singles title in the 56th annual Pasadena Rose Bowl Junior Championships on Sunday at Pasadena High.
Top-seeded Lori Stern of Ojai won the girls’ 16 division championship with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over second-seeded Camelia Todorova of La Jolla.
Erin Wiesener, fourth-seeded in the girls’ 12 singles division, defeated unseeded Jelena Durisic of Torrance, 6-3, 6-0, to claim that title, and Jensen Turner of Woodland Hills beat Reese Milner, 6-3, 6-3, in the boys’ 10 singles division.
In girls’ 12 doubles, Mallory Brady and Tania Mahtani of Torrance beat Ashley Poyer of Malibu and Jillian Schnitman of Calabasas, 6-4, 7-5.
