The Conejo Valley YMCA recently recognized two major donors to its capital building campaign.
The organization honored the city of Thousand Oaks and Arlen and Tony Miller, who own Miller Family Investments. The city has pledged $1 million to the YMCA’s building efforts. The Millers have agreed to donate land for the new Newbury Park facility, contribute an undisclosed financial gift and obtain in-kind contributions from the construction industry.
Money raised from fund-raising campaigns will be used to build a gymnasium and activity rooms at the YMCA in Moorpark and a new center in Newbury Park. The Newbury Park site will be named after the Miller family, said Steve Willmont, the YMCA’s executive director.
“Their contributions and the city’s generous donation have allowed us to begin fund-raising efforts with sizable pledges already in hand,” Willmont said.
