Two of North San Diego County’s top high school players have committed to play at UC Irvine.

Fallbrook High outfielder Evan Harney and Carlsbad pitcher Jon Koller, both all-league selections, told first-year Irvine Coach John Savage of their intentions over the weekend, a Fallbrook athletic department spokesman said.

FOOTBALL

Marina High quarterback Beau Brown suffered a deep bruise under his right collarbone in last week’s loss to Esperanza and is doubtful for the Vikings’ Sunset League game Thursday against Edison, Marina Coach Mike Dodd said. Tom Ansel, a junior with limited playing experience, will replace Brown as the starter.

* San Clemente running back Colin Mahoney suffered a broken collarbone in last week’s victory over El Toro and will be out at least one week, Triton Coach Eric Patton said.
