The 2000 Disneyland Cast Community Fund has awarded Mission San Juan Capistrano a $5,000 grant for its annual Discovery Camp.
The weeklong camp, which begins July 9, features hands-on activities to teach California history to children ages 6 to 11. The week will be led by Juaneno Indian descendant Jacque Nunez, who will explore California’s archeology, environment, history, art and music through song, dance, arts and crafts, candlestick-making, adobe-brick building, quilting and more.
“Mission Discovery Camp celebrates California’s culture, diversity and heritage in a hands-on way that makes learning fun,” Nunez said. Information: (949) 234-1300, Ext. 315.
