Katherine Raley, manager of the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program, will discuss changes in health maintenance organizations for 2001.
The first of her two presentations, to be held at Ventura’s two senior centers, will be this morning.
Raley will present information to help seniors choose an HMO, Medigap, traditional Medicare or Medicare/Medi-Cal coverage.
“This is an important seminar, as changes in HMOs will affect everyone,” said Marcia Ortiz, senior services supervisor. “There will be a new cap on generic drugs, and the cost of monthly premiums will go up.”
Raley will speak from 10 a.m. to noon today at the Ventura Avenue Adult center, 550 N. Ventura Ave., Ventura. For more information, call 648-3036.
Raley also will speak from 10 a.m. to noon on Nov. 29 at the Senior Recreation Center, 420 E. Santa Clara St., Ventura. For more information on this event, call 648-2829.
