Two teenage boys were shot and a man was beaten with a tire iron during a brawl after a baby shower, authorities said Monday.
Several people were involved in the fight, which occurred about 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of El Dorado Avenue, about a block from the party, police said.
The motive was unclear, but the victims said they are associates of a local gang, authorities said.
Nicolas Zendejas, 19, was struck from behind with a tire iron, and his brother, 16, was shot twice in the face and abdomen. A second boy, 17, was shot in the neck and shoulder, officers said.
Zendejas was treated at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard and released. The minor teens were both in serious condition at the medical center, but their injuries were not life-threatening, officers said.
The victims and witnesses were not cooperating, so authorities said they had few details.
