Citrus 40, Valley 21--Dennis Butler returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown and ran a punt back for another, but the Monarchs (1-5) lost a WSC interdivisional game at Citrus (3-3).
Butler also intercepted his sixth pass of the season. Valley’s Richard Rodriguez blocked Jesse Nicassio’s 39-yard field-goal attempt and Butler ran 82 yards for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead with 12:05 left in the first quarter.
Citrus scored 33 unanswered points, highlighted by touchdowns on a 73-yard punt return by Kris Dixon and a 51-yard interception return by Curtis Quanstrom.
Valley finished with 216 yards, surpassing 200 for the first time in three weeks.
