Shirley MacLaine will join more than 30 authors who attended Cal State Northridge at a book signing Friday in Northridge. Some of the prominent alumni authors include:
* Greg Evans, a 1970 CSUN graduate, who created the nationally syndicated comic strip “Luann” and has written several books based on the comic.
* David Gerrold, who wrote the famous original “Star Trek” television show episode “The Trouble with Tribbles.” A 1967 CSUN graduate, Gerrold also has written many science fiction novels.
* Carrie Latt Wiatt, a 1997 CSUN graduate, has a daytime health show on NBC and has published several nutrition books.
“It’s a way to expose the talents of our alumni to the community,” said Gray Mounger, assistant vice president for alumni relations at CSUN.
MacLaine, although not a CSUN graduate, will also be there signing copies of her latest book, “The Camino: A Journey of the Spirit.”
Friday’s event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Borders Books & Music store, 9301 Tampa Ave., Northridge Fashion Center.
