Joseph K. Thornton was one of two Tustin police officers to receive the Chamber of Commerce’s Officer of the Month award for October. Thornton was one of the officers, along with Assemblyman Ken Maddox (R-Garden Grove), to arrest at gunpoint two brothers suspected of holding up area banks last month. Thornton’s name will be added to a plaque inside the Police Department.
