Single-Car Crash Leaves Pacoima Man, Friend in Critical Condition

THOUSAND OAKS — A Pacoima man and his friend were in critical condition Sunday night after a suspected alcohol-related crash early that day, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
Jose Marquez, 21, and his passenger, an unidentified woman, were taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center after the 3:20 a.m. crash, authorities said.
Marquez lost control of his car on Lynn Road just south of Wildwood Avenue and drove onto the median, where he struck a couple of trees, authorities said.
The official cause of the crash was still under investigation, but deputies said they thought speed was a factor.
