Canadian Couple Show Their Mettle

KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii — Canada’s Peter Reid won his second Ironman Triathlon World Championship in three years Saturday, and wife Lori Bowden finished second in the women’s race.
Reid, 33, completed the 140.6-mile course in 8 hours 21 minutes 1 second, more than two minutes ahead of runner-up Timothy Deboom of Boulder, Colo.
Natascha Badmann, 33, of Switzerland was the women’s winner and 44th overall finisher, completing the course in 9:26:17.
