Westlake 38, Moorpark 6--Jonathan Contos rushed for 79 yards in 12 carries for the Warriors (5-1, 3-0) at Westlake High.

Westlake, ranked No. 1 in The Times’ regional poll, forced two interceptions and recovered a fumble, converting all three turnovers into touchdowns.

Moorpark (2-4, 1-2) took a 6-0 lead when third-string quarterback Kevin Arbuckle scored on a one-yard sneak with 5:50 left in the second quarter.

Westlake scored on its next six possessions. The Warriors took only three plays to take the lead, 7-6, on Contos’ 16-yard touchdown run and Travis Swatosh’s extra point.

Frankie Toner recovered a fumble at Moorpark’s 22-yard line to set up another 16-yard touchdown run by Contos that gave Westlake a 13-6 lead.

Todd Feiereisen completed 10 of 12 passes for 121 yards. He threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Foltz to give Westlake a 19-6 halftime lead.

Contos scored his third touchdown on a three-yard run on Westlake’s first possession of the third quarter.

Brandon Williams led Moorpark with 95 yards in six carries.
